Our Story

Sanan and Natalie Mahawan
Picture
I (Natalie Mahawon) moved to Thailand in March 2020. I knew God was calling me to missions, but I had no idea what He had in store for me. I had a heart for seeing unreached people reached with the gospel, and I quickly realized how dark a place Thailand really is. I began hearing stories of parents selling their own children. I visited a town along the Thai/Burma border where I saw a child brothel for the first time. I couldn’t cross to the Burma side where the brothel was, and at that moment, there was nothing I could do to save those kids. My heart was now on fire to see entire families transformed by the gospel so we could put a stop to the selling of children. With all the faith in the world and absolutely no training, I began to live among the Thai people, and I listened as God showed me what to do step by step.

Along my journey, I met my Husband (Sanan Mahawon) , a local Thai/Shan man who had the same heart as I did for seeing the lost reached, and children saved. At only 5 years old, my husband was taken from his mother in Shan State, Myanmar, to be a child soldier. He served in the Shan army for 2 years before the drug warlord leader surrendered to Burma. They dumped thousands of children in the middle of nowhere. They had no one, no food, and didn’t know where they came from or what to do next. My husband was later rescued by his now adoptive parents. It was through them that he learned about Jesus and was raised to be a warrior for Christ!
Together, we now lead an incredible ministry. We have several house churches along the Thai-Burma border. We also have a mother church and run human trafficking prevention programs weekly across several villages, helping orphans, the elderly, and widows with whatever needs arise.
